Aristea Charoniti

Aristea Charoniti is a Greek visual artist based in Athens, working across drawing, printmaking, and painting.

She graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts, where she completed Integrated Master’s degrees in Painting (2012) and Printmaking (2018). She also holds a degree in Theatrology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2006) and participated in the MA Performance Design & Practice programme at the University of the Arts London (UAL) as an Erasmus student in 2010. In 2023, she attended the annual Performance seminar led by Dimitra Nikolopoulou at the National Theatre of Greece.

Her work has been presented in galleries, museums, and art spaces in Greece and internationally, including TAF | The Art Foundation, Mets Art Centre, Snehta Residency, ISET, and exhibition venues in Germany and Turkey. In 2020, she presented her first duo exhibition, Backstage Narratives / Luminous Scenarios – Depictions by Two Printmakers, at TAF | The Art Foundation, together with printmaker Thanos Tsiousis. In 2025, she presented her solo exhibition This Momentary Scent at Mets Art Centre, Athens, curated by Niovi Kritikou.

Her selected collaborations include commissioned portraits of architects Dimitris Pikionis (2022) and Alberto Ponis (2024) for The Architectural Review magazine, as part of its “Reputations” series. Her work has also been included in exhibitions presenting works from the collections of Alpha Bank.

In 2019, she participated in the international printmaking residency programme 10 aus Europa at Kloster Bentlage, Germany. In 2013, her woodcut Crisis in Athens was awarded the Third Prize in the “Engraving Athens” competition organised by Piraeus Bank.

Alongside her artistic practice, Charoniti works as a Fine Art educator. She is a Fine Art lecturer at AKTO Art & Design College and collaborates with Sektor30 as a master printer and printmaking tutor. Her teaching experience spans higher education, public programmes, and workshops, including collaborations with the Onassis Foundation, NN Hellas, Snehta Residency, Athens College, and visual arts education for adults with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities.
